Cleaning windows with microfiber

Microfibers – something which sounds small but which will make a big difference for you when cleaning windows. That’s because the microscopically thin fibers have enormous cleaning power! They effectively pick up dirt, clean without leaving behind residues, are robust and highly effective. In short: your windows can be streak-free and clean in just one swipe thanks to microfibers. But where are they used and how exactly do they work?

Microfiber – what actually is it?

Microfibers consist of thin woven synthetic material, normally a mixture of polyester and polyamide. By splitting the individual fibers, their diameter is reduced in such a way that it is impossible to see them with the naked eye. The linear mass density of the fibers is measured in the unit “denier”.
Here is a brief comparison so that you can get a better idea: the synthetic fibers are only as thick as one hundredth the diameter of a human hair. Three kilograms of them would be enough to completely encircle the globe along the equator.

WindowPro: cleaning with microfiber

To ensure that you can clean with the tool for window cleaning and achieve streak-free results, the WindowPro is equipped with a high-quality microfiber cleaning pad. This consists of three layers. Each layer has its own, different function.

 

Step 1:

Cleaning layer

With the first, outer layer, you can pick up any dirt which is located on the window surfaces, for example. This layer comprises so-called microfiber loops. Much like a wedge, they slide themselves between the surface and the contamination. This ensures that you can even remove the tiniest particles of dirt which are also picked up by the fibers.
Another advantage: the microfibers become electrically charged due to the friction during the cleaning process. You can observe the same effect, for example, when you rub a balloon against your hair – your hair will stick to the balloon. You can also achieve this effect when cleaning windows. Just like a magnet, the microfibers attract dust, pollen and filth.

 

Step 2:

Absorption layer

When the dirt is loosened from the pane of glass, it obviously has to go somewhere. This is where the second layer of the Pro Microfiber Pad comes into play. The absorption layer picks up the cleaning liquid and retains it on the inside of the cloth along with the loosened dirt particles. Microfibers have an extremely high absorption power. Depending on the thickness of the fibers, they can absorb seven times their weight in liquid. This ensures that you can achieve streak-free windows in no time at all.

 

Step 3:

Velcro layer

To ensure that the Pro Microfiber Pad sticks firmly to the WindowPro and does not slip, it can be simply and safely secured thanks to the Velcro layer. However, you can also attach and remove it as you wish without any problems, for example when you want to clean it.
Tip: before using the WindowPro, quickly slide your hand over the Pro Microfiber Pad once it is attached to the pad holder. This will ensure that it sticks even more firmly to the WindowPro.
Particularly sustainable: incidentally, you can clean up to 50m2 of glass surfaces with each pad – that is equivalent to approx. 30 standard windows.

 

Step 4:

Tip:

You can wash microfiber at up to 60 degrees Celsius. This setting is environmentally friendly and is definitely enough to clean it properly. The microfiber pad can also be machine washed up to 500 times – whilst still retaining the same performance. In order to guarantee the cleaning power and to not destroy the fibers, you should never wash the Pro Microfiber Pad with other materials, bleach or fabric softener.
